FMR worked with Apollo and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Tenant Management Organisation to carryout refurbishment works to 75% (leasehold) of 420 properties in Elm Park Gardens, Chelsea, as part of a planned seven year maintenance scheme.

Three quarters of the properties were built in 1900 and consist of five-storey mansion blocks. The remainders originate from the 1970s and comprise of six-storey blocks and a 12-storey tower.

The Project required structural brickwork to be taken down and rebuilt to its original detail, carefully sourced to match as closely in texture and size, and bricks that could not be sourced were either re-constructed on site or made at our casting works. The special bricks were hand made for the red Brick buildings. All the stone string bands were re-constructed using Re-constituted Portland Stone mixes. The bays to the gaunt brick buildings were found to be structurally unsafe and were carefully taken down numbered and rebuild to the original details.
